Just stripping front calipers down for paintinging etc and noticed wear on discs pads, there is something major wrong here, not long before the pads met and brake failure, the calipers are Sumitomo, can not see any other id on them
The pads are EBC but again no other id, as you can see the pads have a 5mm non contact on the outer edge and seem to be running towards the outer of the discs as the wear line on the disc shows no contact towards the centre........just measured and they are 280mm discs and not the larger 298mm, so is it buy new discs or a caliper swap or ????????? _________________ Bikes are for real people |

Hi,
It sounds like your discs are from a 3XV (I think they're 280mm) but you should have 298/300mm discs. There are loads of Yam discs that'll fit-
FZR400 3EN2 and 3TJ
FZR600
TRX850
XJR1200 and 1300 (I think)
plus loads more. You should be able to sort the problem out for £60 or so (if you buy used discs) |
