The cdi has no readable numbers, i will try and get some diagrams for this bike but im tempted just to use my old tzr and all of its wiring!
Should get ok money for my current engine!
But it looks as though this bike has run on this loom before but it has been chopped about a bit to match it to the ysr loom in places like the clocks
Ill see how many diagrams i can find for the 125 lc engines and see if anything matches then if all else fails ill just use the spare engine and loom!

Right thats it this wiring is driving me crazy! Its either the completely wrong loom for the bike or there are some other issues with the engine!
Im going to have to tear it all back out and start again with my other engine, seems a shame to tear apart a perfectly good tzr though!

No visible numbers on the cdi, iv wired it in so i should get a spark but iv got nothing, im losing the will to carry it on, im starting to realise why it was just boxes of bits now.

Iv got a tzr 125 in the garage unused so im really thinking of just stripping everything out of that and putting it in the gag seems a waste of a good running tzr though

Have you considered a third party specialist to help? Many people in the custom, rebuild and specials scene rate this guy.

Just a thought before you eviscerate the TZR.

I have heard of him and only ever heard good things about him, im just worried about the cost when i dont actually know if the engine is good or if i have the correct cdi so it would then turn into am expensive way to do it,

I have checked wiring on my bike, bear in mind its a RDZ125 so maybe different to yours,
i have 8 wires from stator- 3white,black,brown,grey,red,yellow

white/red-from pickup
white/green-from pickup

orange-coil
green/red-temp sender
black-earth

brown&brown/white-both to flasher relay

3white,black,red,brown-All to regulator/Rectifier

My CDI unit also has no visible markings on it;yellow,red/black,black/white,black,orange,brown,white/red,white/green
I stopped there as is blooming cold in me shed today Laughing
If you need more info just gimme a shout and i'll look some more
Hope this is some help to you

Sounds completely sifferent fletch but thanks for checking, i think im going to do a complete engine and loom swap with the tzr iv got, i know its a runner and i know the engine needs running in! The mounts arethe samewith one extra at the top of the head so should be a simple swap.

Just puts a bit of a downer on the project when it stumbles like this, glad iv got a spare bike though!

And your right it is far too cold at the minute but i may have to brave it to get this engine swapped!

You still need the screen? Ill check the condition while im in the garage and maybe even get a photo!

Hello jo, finally joined!
And your a fine one to talk about pulling his finger out!, will the perverse cylinder come out any time soon or do you need to leave it where it is to stop the shelf on top of it coming down
And dont worry ts, he will ride it and want one!
