Anyone know much about them ? I don't mean the modern twist-n-go rubbish that all the local chavs thrash round on before getting a Corsa, I'm talking about the proper old Lambretta's and Vespa's.
There were lots out over Bank Holiday weekend (as usual) and I kinda fancy one. I know nothing about them though and some of 'em seem to go for pretty serious money.
Oh c'mon, don't look at me like that - they make the right kind of noise, it's not like I said I wanted a f*ur-stroke !
Somebody point me in the right direction or just talk me out of it altogether if you want. And anyway, they really piss off the old brit bike boys. Embrace your inner mod !

Scooters are brilliant to ride, go for a Lambretta if you can afford one. Recommend the Li125 if you can get one with twin saddles - superb.
Lot of bad publicity put about by "bikers" right from the 60's onwards but most have never tried one so uninformed opinion. Can be fussy and need good maintenence as any other stroker. Bit bouncy but they are bulit for chilled riding, not scratching althogh loads of parts for performance if you are that way inclined. Defeats the object really.
Try one, you'll love it. |

Have a chat with Larry - owner of Sparkright Technologies - he's scooter mad (and just plain mad. also) - great guy with an infectious enthusiasm for Italian scoots.

Brilliant ! I've been hoping to get a proper scooter on our stand for ages. I'll be in touch before our next show and hopefully you'll bring it along.
Downside is, after looking at it for a whole weekend I'll want one more than ever... |
