Hello,

Has anyone come across this before? My 31k YPVS engine has this engine number * 4L0-103617* . Is this a very early YPVS motor, or some sort of frankenvalve? The numbers are well stock looking. I assumed that the YPVS and LC barrels, crank etc. were non compatible.

I have seen a YPVS top end put on an LC just 1 time ever the bottopm casing was moded for this and you would be able to see this. If it is as you say then some one has done it to make them match the frame Yam neve did it so they have bneen tampered with no matter how nice they may look .

Oh, right. The numbers don't match anyway, coz it's on a hybrid 4l1 frame. It might be worth me getting a ypvs motor then, as mine's probably down on horses. I'll have to get it on the dyno. Would the 31k crank fit in the lc cases? I assumed the ypvs crank was a much stronger unit?

The ypvs crank is better it has a 1mm bigger big end bearing and better webs. But No they will not retro fit in a set of L:C cases as they are to wide . You can masheen lc cases to take a ypvs crank but there is not realy much point with the cost .
