I think this just about fits in here
found it in the back of a mate's garage, it hasn't been on the road in a few years but with a clean of the carb, a new plug and a jump off a car battery it starts and runs very well. only 7,000 odd KM on the clock.
I doubt i'll keep it but mgiht get it roadworthy just so i can have a proper go on it.

taa daaaaa!!!
yes thats a rotax 123cc 2 stroek engine in it, same as fitted to the AF1s early RS125s etc. A pipe and a 34mm carb could make it very interesting!!! _________________ my TDRs from over the years:

Gay or not, the brake lever works and will be attacked with a wire wheel tomorrow to get rid of the surface rust.
Got a sprocket cover on order and will make a chain guard for it (assuming B&Q has some suitable extruded ally angle). I broke the gear change lever linkage shaft whist attempting to straighten it last night so will have to turn a new one on the lathe. _________________ my TDRs from over the years:

I'm pretty sure that is an Aprilia red rose, which like the queer back brake lever, is a bike aimed at the 'confused' bike rider.
And if memory serves me rightly, was restricted to a woeful ( ) 24ish bhp.
Would I like a go on one? Hell yeah
Would I like to add a 34mm Delorto & tuned pipe? Oh yeah
Would I ride it with pride..............erm..................
Good find though TM |

Yep, It is a "Red Rose". New linkage rod made and fitted, Wheel and the infamous brake lever have been attacked with a wire wheel and then the autosol and have cleaned up reasonably well.
needs a new inner tube in the front tyre now as well _________________ my TDRs from over the years:

Hey look, I bought my R1-Z from Tom so he's probably regretting this now & struggling to fill that void with something different. A bit like when your blond girlfriend dumps you so you go & seek out a brunette for a different experience.
Still looks like one of those early 70's 2 stroke single pot "Harleys" I used to see in a shop on Cleethorpes seafront back in the day.
Never forget the old adage, you can't polish a turd, but you can certainly roll it in glitter.......

Chainguards bought from Italy, right hand side footrest hanger bought from Germany, sprocket cover courtesy of eBay UK, lots of autosol and other cleaning
everyone's favourite brake lever
Got a race scrub for the front which i'll try and get fitted over the weekend. _________________ my TDRs from over the years:

Looking good. I wonder how long it will be before you meet someone who says "I used to have one of those" and how long it will be before you actually meet someone who really did.
"It's one of those Van-Vans, right?" |

Hi
Check the ignition system. Some of the very early ones of these had a different ignition with no advance / retard unlike all the later 123 engines.
All the best
