Hi All
I finally got round to tinkering with my gamma Tuesday. Took the ignition off and sent it away to get the missing key cut. Also took off the seized brakes and took apart the front master cylinder ready for rebuild, I was struggling getting the seized piston out from the calliper so thought I'd leave it till my mate can help with his compressor, so thought I'd get familiar with the carbs and get a few pics before I removed them. Only on removing the plastics and the tank I found 2 plastic bags with the throttle cables wrapped up in them and some pieces of finest Japanese tea towel stuffed in the air box and inlets???? Arghhhhhhhhhhh. I DONT HAVE ANY CARBS and the worst thing is I didn't notice all this time??? COMPLETELY GUTTED as I just bought on impulse online as sold as seen. Kind of typically my luck though. I'm now trying to source some but was wondering if the mk1 2 and mk3 are the same carbs. Mine is a 21b model. Also found the battery and I think the tray is missing 😂😂😂😂😂 |

Thanks Erik, ill have to check the jets, are they distinguishable or numbered?
I have managed to get a carb on ebay from a breakers for £125, still a bit disappointed with the company who sold me the bike carbless
Im not sure what else may be missing yet, it looks as if whoever took off the carb was kind enough to leave the inlet outlet bits which are quite hard and made of plastic but I don't know if there may be a rubber part missing yet which join the carb to the air box, Im hoping it wasn't removed because the rest of the engine was a write off, but the way in which the inlets and throttle cables were wrapped seems like they were protecting it from damage? maybe they intended to put it back on? who knows?
Also wondering if anyone can tell me if is there anything electrical going to the carbs like auto choke?, I have found the fuel tank wires battery pos and neg wires dangling but there is a connector block with a orange and white wire dangling which I don't know what its for?
THANKS for all the help and advice so far |

No for as far as i can remember there are no wires to the carbs
orange and white could be for the rear brake light
if so should be 2 female conectors
pics would help......
Erik

Thanks again, it is the plug in the pic on the left dangling down by the frame and it comes out by the negative battery wire, but its a bit hard to make out, I couldn't see anywhere it goes so wondered if it was for a choke?.
BTW after the bad luck with the carbs missing I had a little good luck with the missing fairing brackets, I was just about to send all the measurements and pics you gave me to a metal fab near me which would have cost a fair bit, when I see some for sale on Ebay... managed to get a whole fairing kit for £25 including the brakets, so had a right result.
Thanks for the advice again. Neve |

Couple of pics attached of what I found beneath fairing. The tank rattled with rust as I lifted it off so looking at something to clean and cure the rust that will last but until I get a key I wont know the extent of damage? Frame is in pretty good condition although there is white pitting sporadically all over, is there a way of rubbing back gently or is it a frame repaint?
cheers Neve |

thanks for the pics
i know where it should go
its the orange and white wire in the white conector
thats for the turn signal relay
that should go onto the battery holder
on the other side of the holder are the fuses
same little lip is for the relay
great you found the brackets
i still havent found them.........

Thanks again Erik
So looks like I'm missing the relay also then as I haven't a battery tray unless it's tucked somewhere?. Do you know if all models have the same tray as I've seen one from a gj21a model for £25 on ebay. Have you any pics of what the relay/fuse block looks like where it comes from on the wiring loom and where it goes?
If you need a some of them fairing brackets let me know because I'm sure the seller has some more. I'll get them for you to say thanks for all the help so far.
