Just been a spin on the old gal And not so bad. forgot how much you have to rev these things to make them go.
Definitely needs a expansion chamber (anyone got one for sale?)
The weld on the frame is abysmal. That will be ground down and filled and reground. Side stand Will go I think. Not sure yet.
Anyone done a tail tidy for the ar. Can't find any pics online of one apart from a ar 50 that looks standard but better.
What does the bike run like with a k&n?
Can you blank the oil pump and run with premix. |

If the welding has 'splatter' around the joints then that's a sign of a good old kawasaki.. They are all the same..
You can buy an expansion chamber from NIKKON, Gibson Allspeed and possibly Padgets (although their stock may have now run out).. Otherwise its a bespoke job from someone like Mick Abbey. Good seconds such as Micron come up every so often on eBay but not very often.
Your bike is the restricted model (12hp) so a few tweaks can unleash a fair bit of oomph.. Switching to a K+N can upset the mid range and takes a fair bit of setting up. Plenty of other mods to do first, such as full power disk valve, better exhaust and bigger carb (VM26 for example, you should find yours is VM24) or keep VM24 and try a LEDAR kit - this will give you around 18hp
Next a little porting of the barrel, matching to casings and skim the head makes a big difference... Keeping it simple and straightforward will make it run the same as the unrestricted bike (21/22hp-26hp). You can tune the engine up to 30hp (I've seen 36) but reliability starts to suffer.
I personally wouldn't bother blanking off the oil pump as they work well with the tuned engines and they are reliable, but its up to you.
Looking forward to seeing you out and about _________________ We are where we are... |

bugger, you never replied so didn't turn up. i have a job to price this afternoon and was going to go later.
something has happened to the carb on the bike. the choke has turned from off is on and on is off, bizarre.
is the choke supposed to spring back in when you let go. ?
will need to take to bits and have a look at it. |

No.. Choke is supposed to lock out when pulled and click back in when pushed... _________________ We are where we are... |

Easy to remove choke plunger on the bike
If you take carb off to clean it, be careful not to damage the rubber manifold seal between carb and RRIS valve casing... They are NLA and very hard to get hold of _________________ We are where we are... |
