even on the A1 its very very close i had to adjust the brake rod so it would not touch lol |
Sounds to me like the jig used for the new nikkons needs adjustment.. Their is no need for the Silencer to be too close to the swingarm. Plenty of room. _________________ We are where we are... |

also on the old points bikes the frame does not have cdi or reg mountings fitted
and the crank uses a pin instead of a woodruff key
and some harnesses are alittle different due the the removal of the side stand switch on the later models
you can convert the points harness to a cdi using a sub harness
please correct me if im wrong? |
Your not wrong.. Lots of differences..
Ever noticed the whole crank is different ?
The conrod size is different?
The flywheel is different?
The early pistons are different......?
Some parts can switch models, some can't ..
Got to be careful now.. Or I will sound like a Michael Caine parody ... Haha _________________ We are where we are... |

yeah i read about the older pistons have 1 bar in under the dome while the later have 3 and yeah the flywheel of cause lol due to the ignition been points instead of cdi and the cover is different
did not know about the conrod or the rest of the crank
sounds abit like the early td27
with the nikkon its the chamber that hits but ive got no problems with it as it is now _________________ ar125 a1 1983, ar125 b2 1988, ar125 b4 1988, ar125 b7 1991, kinroad xt50q 2011

Yeah .. Watch out for the con rod.. Same stroke but early models only 14mm wide and later 18mm wide
Here's a more unusual one ...? Why is the plate across frame under battery box different between models too? _________________ We are where we are... |

i kinda sounds like it may use a kh conrod? they are thin (also use the same piston)
yes i noticed that on both A models
ive also noticed in heavy rain there is spray getting around the intake of the air box i also found after over a week straight of heavy rain the airbox began to get alittle damp (did not affect the bike but somthing to note)
but on the later models there is like a splash plate added believed to stop this
also notice on the later models the swing arm mounts are double plated
and on early models the center stand feet are small while the later are large and wrap around _________________ ar125 a1 1983, ar125 b2 1988, ar125 b4 1988, ar125 b7 1991, kinroad xt50q 2011

That's why the airbox has a 'wall' of plastic before the rubber opening to the shock.. To stop water getting back into the filter...
Look out for some tuned ARs as this 'wall' is reduced / cut away inside the airbox _________________ We are where we are... |

Front engine mounts are different on B2/A3 model and very hard to find..
Rear Torque rod is flat pressed steel on early models too..
Oh dear.....
