Hi Guys n Gals,

just did another 109 miles on Team Tiddler so decided to fill her up and she took 8.6 litres, giving an average of 58mpg, not bad but not a patch on my Yamaha XT250 Serow, which gives nearer 80mpg.

However the Kawasaki does make a great noise, so it's worth the difference!

Hi Reggie, Great to hear its being used.

Dec came round today on his AR, been thrashing it all over the place during the holidays. I don't think he has a clue what MPG it does...but he sure knows how fast it goes, hmmmm .. And from the look of the chain he doesn't know how to look after it wither (Q me to sort it out...I wondered why he popped round). Well having to work on it in the rain soon gave him a lesson in adjusting the chain..lol

Incidentally .. When you get around to doing the engine, taking it to unrestricted spec doesn't upset the fuel economy. In fact an extra 10mph doesn't make much difference to the MPG Smile

Hi Shaun,

that chain's a classic, it's almost dragging on the floor!

I've got to give her a bit of a wash this weekend, so she'll be back to her proper condition.

Starts first kick, each time.

Yeah we'll have to chat about de-restricting etc.

All the best.

when i got mine i went to kelso 180mile round trip (with the rumbly mains) and it got 70mpg sitting a min of 60 to flatout lol
then it dropped to 60 after the floats when funny and the b7 engine was fitted
and now /was getting 60 to 65mpg

only think is its now got a 26 carb so it may drop again (once the topend is sorted again lol)

petrol seems to change it a fair bit

nice to hear ARs been used Wink

Hi AR-jack,

my usual mount for camping is my Yamaha XT250 Serow, that I've fitted with UK Army respirator bags to the side of the fuel tank and with Happy-Trails hard luggage, with soft bags fitted to the top!

As you can see, I've also persuaded a set of truck LED tail lights to fit, so if anyone ever ran into the rear of me, then I'm sure they'd be classified as blind!

Phew that luggage is massive .. Looks a great fit and liking the rear lights too.
Bet the AR feels absolutely tiny compared to the Serow with all that carrying capacity ..

I feeling a tad jealous of all this AR camping activity by you guys Smile

Hi Shaun,

hmmmm, I wonder if there would be enough interest to get a few of us together for a 'Strokers under canvas' meet, or is there enough events of this type already available in the calendar?

By far the best thing you should do is come to the Classic Bike Trackdays weekend at Cadwell. Everyone camps on site Fri/Sat nights, the paddock is full of friendly people and cool bikes (many of them 2 strokes) and even if you don't venture on track you'll have a great time for very little cost. I can't recommend it highly enough. You'll be welcomed whether you turn up on the AR with a tent on the back or just come in the car. But you might get to take the AR out for a couple of laps...

Hi StrokerBoy,

Sounds like the start of a plan.

Any idea when the events are taking place this year so I can try to book some time off?
