Hi Guys n Gals,
not long to wait now!
Just been down to the factory to she her on the production line - how often can you do that in these days of mass production eh?
Anyway here she is, with the wavy disc.
And alongside another bike that further along it's build.
How's this for chunky forks (lowered for us of short stature)!
And a slimline rear (which is more than can be said for the owner.
A general view from the rear 3/4.
And of course Mini Me would have to be the first on board!
Can't wait now.
For those who don't know, she'll become a CCM GP450S, Bolton's finest export. _________________ Kindest regards

Nice that you get to see it being built.
Should be fun. I once had a hankering for a supermoto and borrowed a demo CCM R30 from a dealer in Doncaster for a morning. It wasn't fast (I had a GSX-R1100 at the time) but it made me ride like an utter twat everywhere. After an hour of wheelieing, skids and riding up the pavement I took it back rather than end up in prison. |

Hi StrokerBoy,
I can just picture the look on your face. A combination of a maniacal grin, followed by one of sheer petrification as to realising what you'd just done! _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Shaun,
thanks for the link. You won't be surprised to find that I've already bought the comic, and read the report, along with anything else I could find on the bike.
She's going to be a very long term purchase and I've got loads of plans for her. _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Guys n Gals,
I popped into the factory today to see how my new steed's coming along, to find she's not far off being complete.
Here's a side on view, so most of the plastics have now been fitted.
And a row of others in various states of completion.
The quality of finish is sublime.
And the rear wheel and hub combination beautiful.
I've even gone for a stainless tail tidy, which really works wonders to her rear.
And she's got a front frame to help drag her out of the mud or, for me, to attach camera's too!
Only a couple of days to wait. _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Guys n Gals,
well the big day has come!
There are 17 members of staff at CCM so goodness knows just how they manage to create such a magnificent bike but create mine they did!
Here's Darren doing the handover, in front of the factory.
And a second shot where I'd wedged my foot up onto the footrest, so I could control the cramp I was feeling. So I know it looks like I've got one leg but trust me, I have two!
Straight to the petrol station, where the low fuel light had come on (as expected) and she took 17 litres too fill. That's the most I've ever put into a motorcycle in one go and she should give over 200 miles out of the tank.
I was soon home, so I removed the soft luggage, so Pop's can see what she looks like before I fill her with luggage.
And she looks pretty from every angle, especially from the front.
First mod was to remove the end of the bolt, that changed the side stand from a suicide type one, to a normal foot retracted type. Second mod was to fit this Wolfman Enduro tank bag, that I use on my Serows. Very handy for bit's n bats, like a camera etc.
The ride home was like a revelation, the engine was very willing and sounds like a proper bike, the brakes very powerful, yet progressive, the White Power suspension absolutely amazing and when you think about it, she weighs 1kg more than my Serow but has more that twice the BHP!
Looking forward to the rain taking a rest, so I can do a few miles this evening, after tea. _________________ Kindest regards

Bump!
Had a look at these at the NEC, very impressed! I think there is space in my virtual garage for one of these. |
