Hi Shaun,
ta for your kind offer, PM on it's way to ya.
I'm wondering if DS would accept her onto the stand for next years Stafford, as I reckon she'll be complete by then? Would make for an interesting, if slow ride down from Lancashire!!! _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Guys n Gals,
just an update on the E-bat offers,
a solid exhaust, with some surface rust - didn't win it, darn it.
a standard airbox - won one from Portugal. Cool.
the nose fairing - won one that needs minor repairs and full re-paint., well worth £20.00 but still need to find the mounting kit.
and awaiting a reply on a chain guard (as mine has one from a different bike) and a front sprocket cover (as the front mount on mine's knackered) - no reply from these guys but managed to find a sprocket cover and a different seller with a chain guard, so awaiting the sales to end.
So still need;
nose cone fairing mounting kit,
chain guard,
and a good exhaust.

I'm sure Tim will do the usual shout out if DS keep the stand going (I hope so!!).. Not sure if they had AR50 on there before, but I could be wrong _________________ We are where we are... |

We've not had an AR50 before. We had Andy's AR80 at Stafford in 2011. It'd be great to have it Reggie, get it sorted and remind me nearer the time (otherwise I'll forget you offered it).

Hi Guys n Gals,
well I managed to win the front sprocket cover and it's spot on.
Now a technical question?
I stripped down the carb, gave it a thorough cleaning and re-assembled it.
The bike starts first, or second kick and is perfect if I'll giving her a few revs but, as soon as I let her drop to idle, the overflow starts to run but then give her some more revs and the leak stops!
Any leas? _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Shaun,
no sign of wear at all.
I'll check for the float height when I next have some spare time but with my new job, it's not likely for a while! _________________ Kindest regards

Hi Reggie,
Been having a clear out of late & I think I may have a Micron exhaust & a standard exhaust (silencer cut down ) that may be of interest to you?
Neither are in brilliant condition but if you're interested then I can post a pic or two.
Not sure if they are 50's or 80's exhausts, if there is any difference?
Let me know fella. |

Hi Howie,
I've got a standard one on it's way but I'd love to see the Micron, as that would really fit in with the '80's/90's tiddler ethos! _________________ Kindest regards

Ok fella,
I'll post a pic of the micron but don't get too exited as it is not in brilliant condition unfortunately.
Give me an hour or so...... |

As you can see fella, not in the best of condition, scabby welding to the end can.
No dents strangely enough to the expansion pipe & no holes as far as I can tell.
Any use? |

That white AR 80 is lovely
Identical to my brothers bike back in 1990, when I was a young chap.
He brought me to a motorway under construction an let me ride it, got it up to 60, not bad for a 12 year old
Been hooked ever since and have a rough AR 80 project that I will be doing at some point in the future.
It's nice to follow this build too, keep up the good work |
