|
|
This is my Suzuki RB50H / GSX-R50 / Gag / mini-Gixxer thing, as purchased, and completely standard.
Having used it for a short while, it became painfully apparent that it was seriously under-powered, and quite a liability on todays roads, so I bought another and created "HyperGag" - the standard 50cc motor having been replaced with a 120cc Thumpstar engine which is good for nearly 60mph
the pictures below show the comparison between the standard Gag (left) and the conversion (right)
more power...........
more air...........
more noise..........
more speed and revs..........
more gas.............
next stage of the project is a conversion to 2-stroke power, using a modified RGV250 motor which should give it 30bhp, compared to the current 14bhp from the Thumpster motor.
Oh. and a Pepsi replica paint job |

What a great idea and nicely done conversion. I'm thinking of putting a tuned TZR125 engine into my YSR80 for more power. I'd like to take it on a trackday too. |

The Jan 2010 issue of Performance Bikes magazine (in the shops now) has a nice 4-page article on 'HyperGag' in it.
I've got all the photos from the shoot but will wait until the next issue is out before I post them.

Just popped into my local WHSmiths and picked up a copy just for the 'big n' little' feature - what a cracking write-up Can't wait to see all the Gags come onto the market now and prices to rocket... ok maybe not, but the feature still put a huge grin on my face Nice to see it as the first feature in the mag too! _________________ Bikes: www.diffrentstrokers.com

Modified RGV250 engine? 30 BHP? What happens, the upper cylinder removed? An interesting concept! _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!
