I certainly never said that ! Or if I did, I was talking about my own sorry effort.
Looks great that Garry. There's a lot of work going into that. |

Hi Tim!
sorry about that matey - the comment came from the local crew, who I have now directed to this site to:-
a) show them how wrong they are and
b) hope that they continue to frequent the site.
It's the negative and derisive comments I keep getting that's making me more determined to complete the project - thanks for your support!
Garry. |

frame & engine are RGV250
subframe & bodywork off a Mito
rear swingarm ex-Aprilia AF1
front end is home-made, comprising of bits of RGV, Aprilia and Buell.
progress has ground to a halt awaiting some serious re-engineering of the front wheel. |

Hi gagster55 your projects looking great M8
You got to stick with it doing a little bit every now and then ....
Finally things start to happen
My R1-Z Mk2 has been on going for a few months now with very little cash to throw at the thing
Finally today its standing on wheels ......
Fred.

Congrats Fred. Its a real morale booster to get to this stage! I'm sure you experienced that feeling before! The longer the wait, the more enjoyable, I think. Keep us posted. _________________ Breathing new life into an old Gamma!

thanks Fred!
is the R1-Z MK2 project going to be even better than the stunning MK1?
can't wait to see it finished!
I'm hoping to collect the re-engineered front wheel tomorrow (deep joy!) - then I'll discover what other problems it causes (deep anguish!)

Hey Garry you are correct with the deep joy! then deep anguish! comment
I've been happily collecting parts for the bike for a few months now !
100 cc bigger Yamaha 2 stroke motor than standard ....carbs .... electrics .... switchgear etc ..... ?????
Was almost ready to chop the frame and fit when a friend threw a spanner into the works ???
He mentioned that because the frame had never been registered for use in the UK before it looked like I was gonna have to build the bike up as a standard R1-Z to get a numberplate and get it legal before I chop it ( Anyone know if this sounds correct ??? )
So looks like I'm gonna have to strip R1-Z Mk 1 for its motor .... bodywork .... loom .... carbs .... pipes ... etc ( deep anguish! )
Build up Mk2 with the parts and get it all road legal ....
Then swap all parts over again to continue with R1-Z mk 2 350 ( deep joy ! )
Fred.
PS .....
Sorry for bursting into your topic Garry .....
I'll start my own R1-Z Mk 2 thread .... _________________ It's never ever finished ! |

Hi
Probably depends on the age. Old enough and it is pre SVA requirements so you just need an MOT. If it needs SVAing then it is likely to be a lot easier to get a standard bike through it than a modified bike.
All the best
