Here's a heads up for anyone having similar symptoms.
I've been having difficulty with my RS starting & running from cold. The right/
lower cylinder just didn't want to run. Did all the usual things from flushing out the fuel tank, stripping & cleaning fuel tap, stripped, cleaned & flushed
out the carb, no joy. Even swapped coils round to no avail. Started looking for an air leak. BINGO. Found a 3 & a half inch split on the underside of R/H
boost bottle along the seam from the connecting stub. I cleaned & degreased
it & filled in split using super-glue & accelerator. Problem solved.
Took me a week of nights after work finding this out !!!
Oh the joys of running fifteen year old bikes !!!

Bye for now, Wullie. Rolling Eyes

Thanks Wullie, sounds like the sort of snag that would take a whole week of nights to find.... The first time anyway... Wink

Thanks for the sympathy Arlurt.
At least I've learnt to strip the bike down in next to no time after the week
I've had with it, and, its better set up now than when it left Fastline !!!
Found out right carb only had a 210 main jet in it when it should be at least
a 260 !!! Found an old 280 main from my 350 Elsie days in the mid '80s.
( NEVER throw ANYTHING away, you never know when you might need it ! ).
That will do 'till I can get a hold of a 260.

Bye for now, Wullie. Rolling Eyes
