Gary, your 'new' flywheel is the one with the crank pin, that figures. Thats the part I can't get, hopefully there are still a few around for the 2 stroke engine experts like PJ.
Erik, I'll check the master cylinder on my mk4 to see if its like yours.

Erik, checked out the master cylinder on my bikes and its the same on both, bolt at the side. One is an FG Walter Wolf and the other is the Mk4 Walter Wolf. So far Mk 3 - 4 differences are.
Wheels
Forks (inc top yoke and clamp)
Brake discs
Wiring loom
CDI
Regulator
Coil
Indicator relays
Front sprocket
Front Mudguard and fork brace

Been busy striping the Mk 4 front end.

What is the difference between the 3 and 4 mudguard?
I looked under the mudguard and the number is the same on my 3 and 4 (53111-40A)
Will bring my new blue mudguard to the painter to get it painted in white.

Do you have a parts catalogue for the mk4??

Hello Erik, The Mk4 mudguard is different in two ways. The Mk3 has slots in the side of the mudguard behind the forks, look purely cosmetic, the Mk4 one is solid. Where the fork brace fits on, the brace on the Mk3 is curved to follow the contour of the mudguard. On the Mk4 the mudguard has a flat moulding at the top where it is screwed to the brace, the brace is flat.
Sorry, no parts catalog. I have found it impossible to source any new Mk4 specific parts, I have tried Suzuki UK and in Europe, and in Canada. I even had a UK dealer request a few parts (with part numbers) directly from Japan, no luck. I am sure you can probably get parts if you have the right contact in Japan. If you really want to restore a Mk4 its probably worth trying to find a second one for spares. I think there's one on ebay now but the price is ridiculous.

Will try to get it......

Looks like i have a MK3 mudguard and brace on the MK4 front fork.

The one on Ebay is a bit too much for me.
Will put the Mk4 stuff in a Mk3.

Found another Mk 4 difference, the drive shaft is different. I finally removed the sprocket and found that a Mk3 sprocket doesn't fit. The end of the drive shaft has a groove in it, on the Mk 3 the lock washer fits in the groove, the Mk 4 just has a circlip instead of the plate and lock washer arrangement. So on the Mk 4 the groove is much thinner as it only has to accommodate a small circlip. So a full Mk 3 conversion requires a drive shaft, fortunately I have one. What on earth possessed Suzuki to change the drive shaft and sprocket, I could understand if the parts were common to other bikes, but what else would use an RG250 drive shaft? The only thing I can think of is the first RGV, after all, the Mk 4 does seem to be a Jap only stop gap update before the RGV was ready.
