|
|
Hi All
recieved another batch of MVX250 pistons and rings today, but I'm no closer to being able to put either a std, 0.25 or 0.5 complete set together.
So i'm looking to do swaps with anyone. I have loads of 0.5 rings and 0.25 pistons and a few 0.5 pistons. I need a front 0.5
Swaps have to be NOS (new) and in good condition or I will purchase anything you have surplus.
I can obtain small end bearings and circlips and I can have base gaskets made too.
Clutch plates are no problem and I have located supplies of most other gaskets, but no head gaskets
Come on guys we have to share and swap to keep these bikes mobile on the road.
I still have plenty of NOS Honda MVX250 genuine throttle cables and perfect in the box NOS genuine Honda crankshafts available.
Petrol tank anyone? Agin looking for a swap for my NOS two tone blue tank before I have it blasted and painted.
Stay in touch

PS I have a large collection of NOS GT380J (1972) parts and I'm always looking to purchase any surplus stock for my loft
Regards

No idea whether it helps or not, but CMSNL are listing
13011-KG4 std rings
13014-KG4 0.75 o/size rings
13091-KG4 0.25 piston C
13104-KG4 piston
Whilst Prestige Honda are listing
13103KG4 which I also take to be a piston.
Woodys Honda list
13098-KG4 - piston 0.75
Brisbane Honda
13097-KG4 - piston 0.5
13013-KG4 - rings 0.5
Honda Mega Store
13011-KG4 - rings std
If you are specific about exactly which part numebr you want, we might be able to search further. The MVX seems to have a myriad of pistons. I only thought they did one, the hand grenade piston _________________ Alastair

Hi Alister
Thanks for the reply. Its appreciated. Where did you find the listing for the parts on prestige honda and brisbane etc. I have looked at their web sites and can only find a generic e-mail to write to, no parts lists
I know about CMSNL and have bought quite a lot from them already
thee were loads of pistons made for the MVX. The fiche only lists three grades of STD, but they did make >025, 0.5 & 0.75 oversize. The rears came in two pin sizes 14mm & 18mm and the last revisions 506 are teflon coated
Any help would be welcomed in my quest to complete a set in any size
Regards

Now that would be telling I tend to be a little circumspect 'cause I'm a selfish sod when it come to NS400 parts and I put a hell of a lot of effort into finding bits for the NS/MTX. I'll PM you with the link. KG4/MVX parts interest me for the gearbox output seal is common to both bikes. _________________ Alastair

Hi Alister
Thanks for the PM
The gearbox output seal is a common size available from many bearing stockists by size for a couple of pounds. Unless of course you have an anorak zipped right up and just have to have a genuine part LOL
Best regards

You've seen me then
From memory the genuine seal has an external lip which locates nicely in the cases. The aftermarket ones are plain. _________________ Alastair

One of the crank seals is like that, but looking at my manual the gearbox looks to ba plain seal. I will let you lnow later as I am stripping my rusty MVX250 motor today if I can chip the ice off the workshop paddlock. Photo's to follow.
My GP engine builder thinks he knows a supplier in Germany that can supply the seals with a lip as you describe. I will let you know _________________ MVX250 1983 MVX250 1984 GT380J 1972

I'm all ears. Maybe he can source the nS400 right hand seal too. _________________ Alastair
