Diff'rent Strokers

hi
yesterday while swapping over petrol tanks on my walter wolfs i noticed the powervalve cables had come un-attached at the actuating motor and i dont know how to re attach and why they came out in the first place.
I haven't rode the bike for approx 2 mths but have started it regularly and all seemed ok last time out.
i noticed there are 4 positions in which the cables can be attached,is there a diagram anywhere showing route and which to connect where.
A hand drawn diagram would be ok if we have any technically minded artists out there.

Good question.
I forgot to take pics when i took the RG appart
So i don't know how to get the cables attached correctly

Hope someone on here can explain

The servo is the same as the 500 Gamma, hence provision for four cables. If I remember right, the cables cross over, I.E. The upper cable from the Servo goes to the lower part of the Power Valve (on the Right Hand Cylinder), and the Lower Cable goes to the Upper position on the Valve. When you refit the cables, leave the outer cover off the Valve, fit shorter bolts to retain the housing, (the cover has a stop cast into that will break the gears in the Servo, if it turns the wrong way-they may be broke already, this is common) and see if it functions ok, I have had two control units that have been fragged,too.

Remove the cover, the motors magnets make it feel a tight fit.


And the back
Disconnect the plug and undo the screws


Take away the circuit board (in this case, burnt out) to expose the gears, remove the large drive gear and its spacer....this gear, or the small motor gear (on the left) often shed teeth! There is a tooth or two missing off the large gear next to the motor drive gear.



Push the black plastic body into the housing, and the motor is free to be removed.

A large spanner and allen key can be used to remove the pulley from the housing. Other faults I have seen in these include broken springs (again, there is one missing here) that push the brushes onto the armature.
