Classic Mechanics Show, Stafford, October 2012
Back in the Sandylands Hall where we first started 6 years ago. And alongside the RC30 Owners Club, which prompted the idea of a full line-up of homologation 750's. We've done this before of course but not at the biggest show of the year.
Darin's GSX-R750R-Ltd and ZXR750R-M1, Nick's YZF750SP and OW-01, Tim's GSX-R750RK, Chris's ZXR750R-K1, Rob's RC30 and Lloyd's RC45. Plus another RC45 and two more RC30's. And a naked NR750 ! Lottery winner's garage indeed - someone totted up the value of all the bikes on the stand and it came in around a quarter of a million pounds...
We tracked down a R7/OW-02 too but the owner couldn't make it to the show. There was also one for sale in the auction. There was another NR750 on the VJMC stand too, which won the 'future classic' trophy. We did speak to someone with a GSX-R750WR-SP and next time we do this we'll need a ZX7-RR too.
Speaking of trophies, grateful thanks to all the other clubs that voted us Best Mixed Make Club Stand, for which Sara was publicly presented with a trophy, £100 and a kiss off Graeme Crosby.
Big thanks to the RC30 Owners Club (Lloyd, Rob, Chris, Mike, Victoria, Jackie, Gary, Ian and Stuart) for sharing our vision and letting us hang out with them all weekend. Thanks to everyone who generously loaned us a bike (or two, cheers Nick !) for the show, and to all the DS members and friends who popped along to say hello and slag us off for selling out and doing an all 4-stroke display. Normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.
