Spent the afternoon at Dave Hammonds workshop in Dover delving into the inner depths of one of my MVX's

It dont look good. Although the motor ran yesterday and sounded sweet, when I took the top end off the crankcase chambers were full of rust and sludge. The cranks doesn't spin very smoothly and the little ends are rough too. Pistons and rings look good, but I'm doubtfull the bores will clean with a hone and will need a re-bore. All the result from standing in a Japanese back garden for twenty years or so I guess.

But we can rebuild it..........I hope Smile

I have new cranks, but I am really looking for a 0.5mm front piston to make a set, or two sets of 0.25mm rings. Any rear small end bearings wouldn't go a miss either.

I could build it with odd sizes of pistons, but that would be a last resort.

Can anyone help. Cash waiting or swaps

How do I upload pics to keep you all up to date

Unfortunately you can't just upload them straight to here. You need to publish them on the net somewhere (Photobucket, Flickr etc.) then reference them from here. Quite easy though, details HERE.

The black bike is a runner T&T and being used. The white bike is being restored and subject to the re-build. Then it will need registering ready for next summer
