hi all strokers lol, read Kars feature in PB and not happy! i tried to build one about 18 yrs ago (after reading the original feature)it ran very briefly due to getting a bit carried away with tuning.
formula 2 race engine (375 cc i think)
close ratio gearbox
tz 750 inlets
38 mm smothbore powerjet carbs
motoplat race ignition
motoplat twin coils + computer
stephens/lomas pipes
most of this was bought very cheap off a freind who gave up racing
i had a very tatty standard gamma
banned from driving and on the dole (love the 80'S)
Anyway after all this time of having it sat in the corner collecting dust and looking v sorry for itself i have decided to try again.
So any help or input would be appreciated.
The first thing i am looking for is the front coolant pipe a s-shape going from bottom of rad to water pump
soz cant seem to post pic |

the quantell (spelling??) hoses mentoined in the original PB yammagamma article were still available about 18 months ago. might be worth trying to get a set of them. Failing that Simon5 on the RD forum can get silicone hoses made, we could ask him to price up a small batch as i'd buy 2.
as for your pics, you'll have to get an account with photobucket.com or similar and upload them to there first. _________________ my TDRs from over the years:

As Tom said, upload 'em to PhotoBucket (or something similar), failing that email 'em to me and I'll post them for you.

I built one in 1989, not sure where it is now, I think the guy I sold it to didn't know it had a YPVS engine, or rather did not know the significance...
In those days, cosmetics didn't matter.
So, it was an RG250Mk3 with a Stan Stevens stage III tuned engine breathing through 38mm Mikuni Powerjets and Stan Stevens pipes. Sounded the bees.... Ok, maybe the wasps...
Not sure whether I would like it back or prefer a 3MA... |
